Our Story
Our Story
Sunny Day Knots came to life on the breathtaking beaches of the North Shore of Oahu, Hawaii. Each modern macramé piece is uniquely inspired by everyday living on the island of Oahu. From its magnificent aqua ocean with stunningly clear water to the majestic rainforest mountain ranges and every intricately beautiful detail in between. I hope that with each macramé piece, a part of Oahu, especially the island's beloved warmth, is brought into and felt in your home.
It all began with my fondness for my Trader Joe's reusable grocery bags but wanting more. I desired something that didn't scream a grocery bag that I would love to tote around on all my errands throughout Hale'iwa. Nothing I found, I fancied. So, I bought a few macramé books and began self-teaching myself the fiber art of macramé. Then, I started designing prototypes and creating my own original designs which led to Sunny Day Knots.
Every piece is hand-cut and hand-knotted with precision care and meticulous attention to detail. I take immense pride in producing sustainable and high-quality yet gorgeous products made to last for your local farmers' markets, grocery store, or outdoor adventures. Every single macramé piece is originally designed and handcrafted by myself out of my home studio on the North Shore of Oahu, HI.
The delicate balance between us humans and nature's ecosystems is ever-present on the Hawai'ian islands. What Mother Nature provides to us is honored and appreciated. No matter how small, we can each do our part to help better care for Mother Earth. Therefore, I use only 100% recycled cotton cording and natural wood products in all my modern macramé pieces.
Thank you for coming to my tiny part of paradise. It truly means the world to me that you are here. Mahalo! I sincerely hope you can feel the joy, love, and empowerment present in creating each of these contemporary fiber art pieces.
Besides artistically designing and creating, enjoying the warmth of sunny days has always brought such immense joy into my life. So, I believe that no matter where you are on this planet, you deserve the chance to enjoy sunshine every single day. And for those unfortunate cloudy days, let Sunny Day Knots bring the sunny sunshine back into your day.
